An Emotional Voyage

FOCUS: How colour changes emotional interpretation while the sound and visuals stay the same.

Approach: A physical-computing environment involving RFID tags, Arduino, RGB lighting, and synched audio-visuals. Users select a color identity that initiates changes in the environment that influence their experience.

CONCEPT: The journey moves through emotional states-dreamlike calm → subtle tension → inner chaos → pathfinding → dissolution into the unknown-apropos to the subconscious influence of color on mood and decision-making.

OUTCOME: The installation resulted in 92 unique emotional responses, with evident perceptual differences between colours, despite identical audio-visual content. Key words such as calming, chaotic, peaceful, evolving, suffocating, and growth have further revealed very strong color-emotional interpretation correlations. The project hereby illustrated the multisensory cues that shape inner experience and emotion awareness.
