Description
CONCEPT: Our wearable, the P.N.H.D. (Physical Neurological Healthcare Device), emerges from a speculative future where artificial intelligence dominates the planet, pushing humanity into survival mode. The year is 2100, and it tells the story of a scientist who, after discovering a formula capable of turning off AI systems with ultrasonic sound waves, will have to make unimaginably difficult life or death decisions.
After being attacked by AI robots, he was rescued and rehabilitated in underground kinetic bunkers where humans secretly develop biomechanical technologies.
The wearable P.N.H.D. is conceptualized as a multi-functional enhancement system, a combination of biotechnology, neural mapping, and exoskeletal support. It can restore neural pathways, enhance strength, and embed advanced systems like:
Generation of ultrasonic waves-the power to disrupt AI circuits
Vital tracking & diagnostics
Location and movement mapping
Biomechanical reinforcement for mobility
This journey is visualized through the storyline, as it portrays how the wearable revived the scientist, enhanced his capabilities, and equipped him with the power to strike back against AI supremacy.
The physical prototype visualizes the maximalist design language of the device with layered components, exposed interfaces, and an over-the-top sci-fi form exaggerating the future of wearable technology.
OUTCOME: The work outcome is a speculative wearable system that pushes beyond the current technological limits and envisions a future when human survival depends on hybrid bio-tech augmentation. The P.N.H.D. turns into both a medical tool and a combat advantage, giving its user superhuman powers. The intervention presented here, through the storyboard, physical model, and narrative world-building, exemplifies how wearables could evolve to become life-saving, multilayered, maximalist devices that merge healing, power, and resistance into one futuristic artifact.
Info
Design a maximalist wearable 70 years into the future, considering what radical technological, environmental, and societal changes will be at play that would affect human augmentation. The project required building a physical prototype and creating a storyboard depicting the wearable's capabilities, purpose, and impact in a speculative future world.
